I’ve been an attorney for about a decade, and I learn something valuable in every episode, whether the guest has had a similar career path to mine or not. Jonah is a great host, with insightful, thoughtful questions. Very glad to have discovered the show!

This is an absolutely fantastic podcast for lawyers at all levels. It has several practical tips on how to navigate legal profession, law school, networking, legal advocacy, ethics, clerkship, and above all mentorship from the best of this profession. Legal profession is so much more than just the law itself and is filled with very interesting people who bring their varied experiences with them to this profession to make a difference, in their own way, on a very human level. This podcast exposes the audience to those experiences and rekindles ones belief that law is a tool to make good things happen; that failures are just steps to success; that help others if you want others to help you. Jonah has done a tremendous job on collecting timeless wisdom in one place from the legal giants.

With every episode, Jonah Perlin continues to add to the superb and wide-ranging cast of current and former lawyers who share vignettes about their law school experience, legal practice, and at times, reasons they no longer practice. As a soon-to-be law student, I’ve appreciated the opportunity to learn from Prof. Perlin and How I Lawyer Podcast guests and to reshape my—admittedly limited—view of what it means to practice law. Thank you for the invaluable resource and please keep the episodes coming!

I’m another 3L who suffers from career analysis paralysis. There are times when I’m listening to the podcast and I forget that Jonah didn’t make it specifically for me. Jonah, the host, is naturally curious, patient when probing, and has consistently crushed booking a wide range of really awesome people as his guests. This has been a strange, lonely, and (in many ways) uninspiring year for me and some of my friends, and while I consider that to be indicative of how lucky I am, I would be lying if I didn’t acknowledge the part of me that was looking for a reminder of why I went to law school. This podcast has consistently been a source of inspiration. Jonah gathered good people working on hard problems and he got them to share how they think about the world. A beautiful thing. Thank you for making this!

As a young lawyer, I often wonder how other lawyers do the job. This podcast answers that question and more. It’s a great resource and I look forward to many more episodes.

In law school they teach you a lot about the law, but not a whole lot about what lawyers actually do. This podcast is a fantasic resource for anyone who wants to learn more about different career paths and options that exist in the legal field. As a law student myself, I can say that it's unlikely I ever would have submitted apps for positions related to higher ed had I not listened to a guest on this show go through what she likes so much about the field. For someone with little podcasting experience, he really does a great job. 10/10, can’t wait to see who’s on the show next.
